Fall Fest

Well even though we already had our first snow, today we ventured back into fall...

Today we went to a pumpkin party with the Guide Dog group. It was a big celebration, and we picked up a few nice looking pumpkins there for free, so that was fun. We had fun posing for pictures with Eve and enjoying a nice fall day.

Fall Fest Part 2

A few more pictures from the fall fest...

A picture of a few of the other guide dogs... not everyone is ready, but at least Eve and I are!

Look at that big smile on Eve!!!! (if you double click it will bring it up bigger)
And what would a fall party be without a hayride! (+6 dogs in the back!)

Eve's Bad Day

On Monday I thought Eve might be a little sick, so I decided to leave her at home for the day. I made sure she had a nice place to lay in the kitchen -- her dog bed covered with an afhgan just in case she really was feeling bad. And of course I put a bone in there for her to chew on.

This is what I found when I came home during lunch....

Oh well, at least it was just the dog bed. The refrigerator, cabinets, and floor all seemed to survive. Just when I thought I could trust her....

Eve's First Snow

Can you believe it? Snow already, and it is only mid-October. It seems like the little snow last night was equivalent of one of the snow storms typical of November and December.

This is Eve's first real snow... she seems to love it! She runs and runs and runs! I think she thinks the snow is burying her rope toy, and hence she tries to play keep away with the snow. Silly dog!

Raspberries from the Garden

I've been trying to play around with photography more and more. I like the way this shot came out because there are so many colors of raspberries... makes me hungry just looking at them all.

Grace Hopper Celebration For Women In Computing

This past week I was lucky enough to go to the Grace Hopper Conference of Women in Computing. It was awesome to meet with 1600 other women computer scientists. I did a lot of networking, socializing, learning, and having fun. It was very motivating and encouraging too!

(It was in Tucson, AZ, hence the cactusus!)

The hotel where the conference was at had a lazy river tube ride on site! A great spot for networking!
